A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department sergeant suffered moderate injuries when his vehicle overturned in Lancaster, authorities said Friday.
The rollover occurred around 9 p.m. Thursday, near the intersection of the Sierra Highway and Avenue J-8 when the sergeant, responding to a call for assistance from a Lancaster deputy, swerved to avoid a pedestrian crossing the highway, sheriff’s Sgt. Troy Bowser said.
The pedestrian was not injured, Bowser said.
The sergeant was treated at a hospital, sheriff’s Deputy Trina Schrader said.
