A man was shot and killed in El Monte on Tuesday.
The shooting in the 9300 block of East Garvey Avenue, near Rosemead Boulevard and the border with South El Monte, was reported about 4:30 p.m., according to sheriff’s Deputy Peter Gomez.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. A woman who was also at the scene was not injured, Gomez said. It’s unclear what if any relationship there was between the man and the woman.
The name of the deceased man was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
A motive for the shooting was not known.
No suspect information was available.
