Two people were hospitalized with smoke inhalation Tuesday following a fire at a single-family house in Santa Clarita, authorities said.
The fire was reported in the 28000 block of Winterdale Drive around 11:45 p.m. Monday, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz. The blaze was knocked down by 30 firefighters in 18 minutes, he said.
Firefighters tried to save the life of a dog at the scene, but the animal died. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
A damage estimate was not immediately available, but the Santa Clarita Valley Signal and a videographer at the scene reported that the house was destroyed.
