A 19-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday with injuries he suffered when he was struck by a vehicle in Lancaster.
The victim was struck around on 20th Street East, near Avenue I, said Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Fredericks said.
A videographer at the scene said the female driver of the vehicle was unaware she had struck the victim until she noticed damage to a headlight and windscreen of her pickup truck when she arrived home. The driver retraced her route, found the victim and called 911, the videographer said.
Fredericks said the elapsed time between the victim being struck and discovered was under investigation. The accident was reported around 8 p.m. Tuesday, Fredericks said.
The victim was in critical condition but showing stable vital signs, authorities said.
