Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies sent to Nogales High School on an unconfirmed report of shots fired on Friday determined that someone set off firecrackers, according to news reports and the sheriff’s department.
School police determined the early afternoon incident at 401 S. Nogales Street involved “firecrackers only,” according to a deputy at the sheriff’s Industry Station, which provides law enforcement services in the unincorporated area where the campus is located.
There were no immediate arrests, but the incident remained under investigation, the deputy said.
