A year-old boy wearing just a T-shirt and diaper and another boy about 2 years old were found unattended at a Long Beach intersection Thursday, and police released photos of the children in hopes that someone will recognize them.

Officers were sent to the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and 60th Street about 8:45 a.m. after a passerby reported seeing the children, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The older boy was wearing a T-shirt, shorts and sandals. Both are black and appear to be in good health, police said.

Investigators questioned witnesses in the immediate area, but no one reported seeing anyone with the children or dropping them off. A two-block area was canvassed, again with negative results, according to Long Beach police.

All law enforcement agencies in Los Angeles County and five surrounding counties were notified and the boys were turned over to the Department of Children and Family Services, police said.

Anyone with information about the children was urged to contact Long Beach police at (562) 435-6711.
