The family of a man shot and killed on the patio of an Altadena hamburger stand believe he was the victim of a gang-related shooting, it was reported Friday.

Richard Walker identified his son, Christopher Walker, as the victim of the shooting, which occurred in the 2500 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Walker told NBC4 his son was a former gang member and the father of two young children.

A suspect approached and argued with the victim before opening fire, striking him multiple times, said Lt. Robert Lewis of the sheriff’s Altadena Station.

The victim was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment, Lewis said. His death was later announced by the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.

A dark gray four-door car with at least two people inside was seen leaving the area, headed east, according to the sheriff’s department.
