An 18-year-old man was fatally shot by two suspects while attending a party Saturday in Rosemead.

Paramedics were dispatched to 7900 block of Virginia Street at 1:15 a.m., said a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.

Sheriff’s detectives said there was a party at the location where the shooting victim and the suspects had attended. The victim asked the suspects to leave the party, said Sgt. Carmen Arballo of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

A short time later the suspects returned to the party with a firearm and shot the 18-year-old man in the chest, Arballo said. The suspects fled the location on foot in an unknown direction and out of view.

Paramedics rushed the shooting victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, she said.

The suspects were described as two Latino males, between the ages of 17 and 21, the sheriff’s sergeant said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives asked anyone with information regarding the shooting attack to call them at (323) 890-5500.
