A man assaulted on a trail in Griffith Park Monday was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
Paramedics found the man with multiple injuries about 2:30 p.m. and set up a command post at Fern Dell and Red Oak drives, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jane Kim said.
Kim said there were two suspects, but had no other information.
KCAL9 reported that the victim suffered severe injuries to his face. The victim and his suspected assailants may have been homeless, according to KCAL9.
Police did not make suspect information available.
Police would only say that they were collecting evidence and had areas of the park closed off this evening as they collected evidence.
