An 18-year-old high school student who went missing after leaving her campus in Tujunga last week was reunited with her parents unharmed, a sheriff’s sergeant said Monday.
Lena Donabedian walked into the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at 9 p.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Richard Cartmill.
“She just walked into the lobby on her own. When she was interviewed she wasn’t claiming she was kidnapped or anything like that,” Cartmill said. “Her parents were notified and they came and got her.”
“The LAPD was notified because it was their case so they could do a follow up investigation,” he said.
Donabedian had last been seen about 2 p.m. Monday leaving Verdugo Hills High School in the 10600 block of Plainview Avenue and getting into a light- colored, four-door sedan with two males inside, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Her mother, Sosi, told the Los Angeles Daily News her daughter had never run away, hardly ever went out with friends and was usually at home with family after school and on weekends.
Family friend Michael DeWitte told the newspaper that Donabedian recently met a guy on Instagram and described him to friends as her boyfriend. He was believed to have been a passenger in the vehicle in which Donabedian was picked up.
