A homeless man was in custody Tuesday for allegedly assaulting another transient in Griffith Park, police said.
Tyrone Contino Isumu, 54, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Monday and booked on suspicion of attempted murder, with bail set at $500,000, according to the sheriff’s department.
The victim, whose name was not released, suffered “severe” injuries in the attack and was hospitalized, said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman.
Both men apparently frequented a homeless encampment, and they became involved in a dispute that led to the attack, which occurred about 2:30 p.m. Monday, police said.
