A man who was armed with a handgun was fatally wounded in a deputy-involved shooting in Palmdale early Friday, authorities said.
The shooting occurred near the intersection of West Rancho Vista Boulevard and Cricket Lane around 3:50 a.m., said Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Diane Hecht. No deputies were hurt in the confrontation.
According to sheriff’s Cmdr. Mike Parker, the man was armed with a handgun, but additional details were not immediately disclosed.
The name of the man, who died at the scene, was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
