A fire scorched between four and five acres of brush along the Ventura (134) Freeway in Eagle Rock Saturday, closing several lanes and an on-ramp but injuring no one.

No structures were threatened by the fire, which was reported about 7:30 p.m. along the westbound side of the freeway west of Figueroa Street, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters attacked the blaze from the ground and air and brought the flames under control in 33 minutes, Humphrey said.

Thirty-eight LAFD firefighters responded, along with three helicopters and units from the Pasadena and Glendale fire departments, he said.

The fire closed three westbound lanes of the freeway and the Figueroa Street on-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
