Police Saturday sought the public’s help in finding three suspects involved in a car-to-car shooting that took the life of a 28- year-old man in Watts on Friday night.

It happened about 9:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of East 92nd Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Joshua Johnson was sitting inside his parked white Pontiac Grand Prix when three males in their teens or early 20s pulled alongside in a dark sedan and one of them fired multiple shots, police said.

The suspects fled in the sedan, heading east on 92nd Street and Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the LAPD.

The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear, police said.

Anyone with information that could aid the investigation was urged to call detectives Scott Teubert or Mark Hahn of the LAPD’s Criminal Gang/Homicide Division at (213) 485-4341. After-hours and weekend calls can be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7, and anonymous tips can be provided by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
