A man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Van Nuys was identified Monday.

Josue Fuentes, 22, was fatally shot near Victory Boulevard and Haskell Avenue about 3:15 p.m., according to Los Angeles police and coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

Police were sent to the area on a report of a man cutting himself with a knife.

The shooting death was one of three officer-involved shootings over the weekend. In Cypress Park Saturday evening, Los Angeles police fatally shot a man at the end of a car chase. In South Los Angeles on Sunday morning, a man fired at police, then fatally shot himself, police said.
