A big rig turned onto its side on a Pomona (60) Freeway on-ramp in Rowland Heights Tuesday, backing up traffic but injuring no one.

The semitrailer overturned just before 1 p.m. on the on-ramp from southbound Azusa Avenue to the eastbound side of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The on-ramp and right lane of the freeway were closed as crews worked to set the truck back on its wheels, causing eastbound traffic to back up, according to the CHP and reports from the scene.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and determined there were no hazardous materials involved, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.

No one required transportation to a hospital, he said.
