A 61-year-old Covina woman was arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot and kill family members, police said Friday.

About 10 a.m. Thursday, police went to the 1800 block of East Venton Street after “an estranged family member reported his stepmother had threatened to kill him and two other family members,” said Covina police Sgt. Gregg Peterson.

Andrea Carbonetta’s husband had died the previous day after a long illness, and she allegedly threatened to kill her stepson and the other relatives if they attended the funeral, Peterson said.

“The suspect was filmed by her 13-year-old daughter making the threats …,” the sergeant said.

Detectives viewed the video, arrested Carbonetta, and seized three handguns, a rifle and a shotgun from inside the residence, Peterson said.

Carbonetta was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, he said, and was released on $50,000 bail on Thursday night. She is scheduled to appear in court in West Covina on Monday.
