A man on a motorcycle was killed in a crash into a pole on a San Diego (405) Freeway transition road in Long Beach, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 2:35 p.m. on the transition road on the southbound transition road just north of Lakewood Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:53 p.m., CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.
He apparently crashed into a call box pole, he said.
One lane of the transition road was closed following the crash, he said.
