Authorities on Friday sought the public’s help in locating the driver who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Walnut that witnesses said involved street racing.
The crash happened about 6 p.m. on Nov. 13 on Amar Road just east of Alta Sierra Road, said Investigator Paul Alaniz of the Traffic Investigation Unit at the sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station.
Witnesses reported “that one of the parties involved in the collision was seen racing another vehicle,” he said.
The vehicle was described as a black Acura Integra or possibly a 1990s Honda Civic, Alaniz said.
The injured driver was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday.
His name has not been released.
