A bear was up a tree in a Palmdale neighborhood Monday morning, with sheriff’s deputies standing guard until California Fish and Wildlife officers arrive, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
The sheriff’s department received a call about the bear in a tree in the 36900 block of Desert Willow Drive at 3 a.m., said the sergeant at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.
Deputies will remain at the scene until state wildlife officers tranquilize and remove the bear, she said.
The bear climbed up a pine tree and has an orange tag in one ear, indicating it had been captured before, a news videographer reported from the scene.
