A man accused of intentionally setting his 59-year-old mother on fire was found incompetent to stand trial Monday and was ordered to Patton State Hospital for treatment.

Philip Chang, 27, is charged with murder, torture and aggravated mayhem in his mother’s death.

Heunae Chung succumbed to her injuries on Aug. 30, 2012, five days after police and firefighters responding to the 12000 block of Via Marta in Sylmar and found her suffering from severe burns.

Chang has been held without bail since his arrest Aug. 25.
