A man with a waiting getaway driver robbed a Fountain Valley Bank of America of an undisclosed amount of cash, a police lieutenant said Saturday.

The suspect entered the bank at 17430 Brookhurst St. and gave the teller a hold-up note demanding money. The bank teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of currency, and the man ran out of the bank, said Fountain Valley police Lt. Matt Sheppard.

Police received a call of the robbery at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sheppard said.

The police lieutenant said the suspect was last seen entering a vehicle that was waiting on El Corazon Avenue. The vehicle fled west on El Corazon Avenue and then north on Brookhurst Street.

The suspect was described as a 6-foot, thinly built white male who was about 20 to 30 years old. He had no facial hair and was last seen wearing a black Lakers baseball cap, a dark-colored flannel shirt, black pants and white shoes.

Fountain Valley police asked anyone with any information regarding the bank robbery to call them at (714) 593-4485.
