One person was killed and another person was injured when their vehicle flew off the bridge under the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway at the San Gabriel River in Downey on Sunday and landed in the riverbed, near a bike trail.

The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 5:53 a.m.

Los Angeles County paramedics were dispatched to the river at the westbound freeway, at 5:56 a.m., and rushed one person to an area hospital.

That injured person’s medical condition was not immediately known, said a county fire dispatcher.

The Coroner’s Office was called out at 6:44 a.m.
