An investigation continued Sunday into a hit-and-run crash on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in South Los Angeles that left a 64- year-old pedestrian dead.

The victim — identified by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office as 64-year-old Hector Valle Perez of Los Angeles — was walking in westbound lanes of the freeway, east of Vermont Avenue, about 5:30 a.m. Saturday when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan that left the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A second passenger vehicle, a 2007 Toyota driven by a 45-year-old Los Angeles woman struck Perez after he was down and he was also hit by a 2014 Peterbilt big rig hauling a trailer that was driven by a 27-year-old Rialto man, the CHP reported.

Both the Toyota and the semitrailer stopped at the scene, according to the CHP.

It was unclear why Perez was walking in freeway lanes.

The crash closed three westbound lanes for about three hours, according to the CHP.
