Los Angeles police officers will be out in force this weekend, beginning Friday afternoon, on the lookout for intoxicated drivers and those without valid licenses.
An eight-hour DUI “saturation patrol” operation will be conducted in the Los Angeles Police Department’s southwest area, beginning at 5 p.m., the LAPD reported.
At 8 p.m., a five-hour “sobriety and driver’s license” checkpoint will begin at Huntington Drive and Poplar Boulevard.
On Saturday at 8 p.m., a five-hour sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint will begin at Sepulveda Boulevard and Parthenia Place.
And on Sunday at 5 p.m., an eight-hour DUI saturation patrol operation will begin in the LAPD’s Foothill area.
The extra work is being paid for with federal funds administered by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
