Two men shot and wounded a man at a Pomona nightclub early Saturday, and minutes later their escape vehicle rolled off a freeway offramp, leaving behind an injured innocent person and a gun.
A police manhunt found the fleeing men. Two 24-year-old men, Dhati Conley of San Bernardino and Terrell Wilds of Colton, were treated for minor injuries and booked into the Pomona City Jail for attempted murder and felony hit and run.
But the car crash caused “major injuries” to an innocent person. It was not clear how that person was caught up in the violence.
The incidents began at 1:57 a.m., when police received several calls regarding numerous gunshots coming from Club La Luna, 3220 Temple Blvd., according to Pomona police records.
Officers arriving at the scene found a shooting victim down outside the nightclub, according to the news statement.
Paramedics dispatched about 2 a.m. to the area of Pomona Boulevard and Temple Avenue rushed one gunshot wound victim to an area hospital, where the victims injuries were not considered life threatening.
Officers were looking for the getaway car when they got calls that a white Cadillac Escalade had crashed at the San Bernardino (10) Freeway exit to Fairplex Drive.
The SUV was involved in a rollover crash that caused major injury to an innocent victim, according to the news statement. But it was not clear how that person was caught up in the crash.
“Officers learned the occupants of the suspect vehicle fled the location on foot after the accident,” according to the police report.
Officers searched the area and arrested Conley and Wilds. Police also found a weapon at the crash, records stated.
Pomona police detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the nightclub shooting or traffic crash to call them at (909) 620-2085.
