A search is underway for a missing 30-year-old Los Angeles man in New York, who was last seen two days before Thanksgiving in Manhattan, it was reported Sunday.
Steven Reynoso, who lives in Boyle Heights, took his girlfriend to the Renaissance Hotel on Seventh Avenue in Times Square for a short vacation, the week before Thanksgiving. He left the hotel about 4 p.m. that Tuesday, telling his girlfriend that he was going to meet up friends, the New York Daily News reported.
Reynoso’s girlfriend told the newspaper that he was last seen wearing a black peacoat, black jeans and black sneakers. He was also carrying a black bag.
Reynoso’s father told the newspaper that his son’s girlfriend stay at the hotel for three days after his son’s disappearance — and had her mother fly in to be with her – but returned to California when she ran out of money.
The New York Daily News reported that when she arrived back to the southland she visited Reynoso’s family to return his luggage and left. Reynoso’s cellphone either died or was shut off about a day after he disappeared.
The newspaper reported that Reynoso was 5-foot, 9-inches tall weighing 260 pounds and that he was trying to market a hangover cure he had invented at the time of his disappearance.
Anyone with any information regarding Reynoso’s whereabouts was asked to call the New York Police Department’s Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS.
