More than 100 Los Angeles firefighters battled a heavy blaze in a mixed-use building under renovation in the Westlake area Monday morning, a Los Angeles fire department official said.

The fire in the 9,000 square-foot building in the 2800 block of West Seventh Street was reported at 4:09 a.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman David Ortiz.

The building consists of apartments over space reserved for commercial use. No injuries were reported.
