A 42-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday after she was struck by a vehicle in front of her home in Lancaster, authorities said.
The woman was sweeping leaves from a roadway gutter in front of her home near the intersection of 27th Street East and Avenue J-14 when she was struck by the vehicle around 4 p.m. Tuesday, said Los Angeles County Sheriff‘s Lt. Margarita Velazquez. The vehicle then hit two parked cars, she said.
The 49-year-old female driver of the vehicle was not charged, Velazquez said.
