Two people were hospitalized in critical condition after their vehicle ran into a stalled big rig on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Hacienda Heights early Friday, authorities said.
The accident occurred in the eastbound lanes near South Azusa Avenue around 12:55 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol’s online incident log.
One person was ejected from the vehicle and another was trapped, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervising Dispatcher Ed Pickett.
A videographer at the scene reported that a compact car appeared to have struck the side of the big rig, and then spun into the eastbound lanes.
