An overnight driver’s license and sobriety checkpoint in Lancaster that ended Sunday netted 46 arrests.

The checkpoint was on Avenue I at 3rd Street East. It began at 6 p.m. Saturday and ended at 2 a.m. Sunday, said Sgt. Daniel Dail of the sheriff’s Traffic Services Detail.

Dail said two motorists were arrested for suspected drunken driving, three drivers were arrested on outstanding felony warrants and four drivers were arrested for misdemeanor warrants during the checkpoint.

Also, 29 unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court, 11 drivers with suspended or revoked licenses were arrested and sent to court, and three suspects were arrested for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive their vehicle, he said.

Eight vehicles were stored for one day and 13 vehicles were impounded for 30 days, he said.
