An armed robber stole cash and two English bulldog puppies from a pet store in Pico Rivera Wednesday.
The robber drove in a BMW to Mr. Bulldogs at 9432 Whittier Blvd. about 12:30 p.m. and demanded cash and threatened to shoot the puppies unless they were turned over to him, according to the sheriff’s department and store manager Miriam Guillen.
The store’s owners expressed concern about the puppies’ safety with the robber. They were being fed goat milk three times a day.
The puppies were priced at nearly $2,500 each, the store owners said.
The robber was wearing a bandana over his face.
This was the fourth time in six years the store has been robbed.
