A man and a woman were critically injured when they were ejected from their SUV as it went off the southbound 57 Freeway and up the right shoulder embankment in San Dimas, and a dog died in the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol Wednesday.
The white Ford Explorer crashed on the 57 Freeway south of Arrow Highway, and it was reported at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two people in the SUV suffered severe trauma injuries, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett. They were taken by ground ambulance to the nearby fire station on Arrow Highway, transferred to helicopters and taken to County-USC Medical Center in critical condition, Pickett said.
The dog was ejected from the SUV as it hit the embankment, and was killed.
