A man was chased Wednesday into a South Los Angeles alley and then shot in the leg.
The shooting in an alley near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 55th Street was reported at 9:51 a.m., Los Angeles police Officer Sally Madera said.
According to reports from the scene, the victim was pursued by drivers in two vehicles before being wounded.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was transported to a hospital in stable condition, Madera said.
The motive for the shooting was unknown, and no suspect descriptions were available.
