Five people were injured in a three-story motel fire in the Westlake area Thursday, fire officials said.
Flames at the JJ Park Motel at 1906 W. 3rd St. were reported at 6:12 p.m., said Erik Scott, a spokesman with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It took 100 firefighters about 21 minutes to extinguish the structure fire, Scott said.
Five people had to be hospitalized with unknown injuries, he said.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
