The Los Angeles County’s Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner Saturday publicly identified a 71- year-old man who was killed when he accidentally tripped and fell down some stairs inside his El Segundo home, then apparently walked outside where he died.
The man was identified as El Segundo resident Wayne Peters, said Coroner’s Lt. Dave Smith.
Peters was found dead on the street about 3:15 p.m. Friday in the 750 block of Sheldon Street.
“It was a tragic accident. The homeowner tripped and fell at some point in his residence,” said El Segundo police Sgt. Mike Gill.
