A man walking down a South Los Angeles street was wounded in a drive-by shooting, a police sergeant said Saturday.
The shooting was reported at 7 p.m. Friday at 50th Street and Western Avenue, said Sgt. Thomas Bojorquez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Station.
“The vehicle drove by, several rounds were fired and the victim was struck in the abdomen,” Bojorquez said.
The victim was transported to a hospital where his vital signs were stable, the sergeant said.
The shooting was being investigated as gang-related because the victim was a gang member, he said.
