An 84-year-old man with dementia and heart problems who needs medication was found early Saturday at a Mission Hills restaurant more than 11 hours after he walked away from his home in Panorama City.
Two California Emergency Mobile Patrol civilian search and rescue search dogs tracked Zosimo Liong to a restaurant at Sepulveda Boulevard and Chatsworth Avenue where he was found cold and a bit disoriented and with a cut lip, said Lt. Paul Vernon of the Los Angeles Police Department Mission Station.
The dogs had picked up his scent where he was last reported seen by a citizen who learned about the missing man on television, Vernon said.
Liong was last seen at his home in the 8700 block of Katherine Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Friday, police Lt. Bill Heard said.
