Two allegedly drunken drivers crashed into each other early Sunday, and while the one who reportedly drove through a red light was killed, the second was arrested.

The crash was at Foothill Boulevard and Polk Street at about 6:40 a.m., said Los Angeles police Sgt. Robert White of the Valley Traffic Division.

A woman had been driving south on Foothill Boulevard when she ran the red light and crashed into another vehicle that had been westbound on Polk Street, White said.

Both vehicles came to a rest at the southwest corner of the intersection.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the police sergeant said.
