A man reported to have a gun was wounded in a deputy-involved shooting at a Compton gas station Wednesday afternoon and taken to a hospital, but no deputies were injured, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at 4:25 p.m. at Compton Boulevard and Willowbrook Avenue, said Deputy Amber Smith of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
Deputies were initially responding to a man with a gun call, Smith said.
Smith said she did not know the suspect’s condition or the circumstances of the shooting.
