California Highway Patrol officers arrested 104 impaired drivers in Los Angeles County between New Year’s Eve and Friday morning, the same number in the year-ago holiday period.
Statewide, a total of 510 DUI arrests were made on freeways and in unincorporated areas between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 6 this morning, compared to 457 in the comparable year-ago holiday period, according to the CHP.
Two fatalities were reported on Los Angeles County roadways during this year’s holiday period, with nine deaths statewide, according to the CHP. Last year, 14 fatalities were reported statewide, with one in Los Angeles County.
The DUI arrest tally reflects only those made by the CHP, not local agencies.
