The coroner’s office on Sunday released the name of a 27- year-old man who was killed in a gang-related shooting in East Hollywood.
His name was Javier Resendiz Jr., whose city of residence was unknown, said Lt. Larry Dietz of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The shooting occurred about 8:45 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of North Alexandria Avenue, where the victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds, said Officer James Richter of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, just south of the Hollywood (101) Freeway near Western Avenue.
The suspect was described as an Hispanic man wearing red clothing, police said.
No arrests have been reported.
