A woman was struck and killed Sunday by a hit-and-run motorist in the Chesterfield Square section of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The motorist was going east on Slauson Avenue, near Denker Avenue when he or she struck the pedestrian, who was walking in the street about 2:30 a.m., Los Angeles police officer James Richter said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner’s office withheld her name pending notification of her next of kin, reporting only that she was a woman in her late 30s.
Friends and family members told ABC7 she was 39-year-old Treva Arnold, mother of two children.
She was struck by a tan or silver vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen, last spotted heading south from the crash scene, police said.
