A suspect led deputies on a 1.1-mile vehicle pursuit Sunday in a stolen pickup truck, which ended when the man crashed the truck into a parked vehicle in West Covina and fled the scene on foot.

Deputies in the area of Francisquito Avenue in unincorporated West Covina ran the license plate numbers of a white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado and discovered it was stolen at 2:55 a.m., said Sgt. James Beamon of the sheriff’s Industry station.

Deputies tried to pull over the pickup truck but the vehicle chase ensured instead, lasting a relatively short time before the suspect crashed the pickup into a parked vehicle and a tree in the 1600 block of Orange Avenue in West Covina, Beamon said.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. Deputies had no description of the suspect, he said.
