A 24-year-old man suspected of breaking the front windows of Pomona businesses was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism Sunday, police said.

Suspect Rafael Palafox, 24, lived nearby the businesses, which are located in the 2000 block of South Garey Avenue, and was identified after being photographed on security cameras, according to Pomona police.

Two adjoining stores had their front windows smashed Sunday and another business in the same area had its window shattered three times in the past two weeks, police said.

“The suspect was throwing rocks through the windows for no apparent reason,” according to a police statement.

With images of the suspect in hand, officers searched for Palafox and located him at the intersection of Indian Hill Boulevard and Holt Avenue, police said.

He was arrested on suspicion on suspicion of felony vandalism with bail set at $20,000, police said.
