The 6100 block of Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood will re-open Thursday morning after bomb squad investigators determined a suspicious device was harmless.

The device was reported by a passer-by around 1:45 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Scott Murray said.

Santa Monica was closed between North El Centro Avenue and North Gower Street while members of the LAPD bomb squad examined the package.
