Authorities Friday identified a man who allegedly kidnapped a 3-year-old girl by reaching through the bedroom window of her Newhall home, grabbing her, and running off with her.

Ethan Odom, 37, of Saugus was booked on suspicion of kidnapping, and was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail, according to the sheriff’s department. Odom was scheduled to appear in court in San Fernando on Monday.

Deputies responded to the home in the 24200 block of Arch Street about 7 p.m. Thursday and chased the suspect, who was arrested within a containment area, said Deputy Josh Dubin of the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station.

The girl, who was rescued by family members, was startled but unharmed, Dubin said.

“It appears there is no relation between the suspect and the 3-year-old or her family,” Dubin said.
