Two people, one of them possibly a child, have been hospitalized after a vehicle was driven into a house in Boyle Heights Wednesday night.

It happened in the 300 block of South Pecan Street about 9:15 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jack Richter said.

Richter said a vehicle driver had tried to hit someone in the house with the vehicle, and ended up hitting a porch in front of the house.

Richter said the driver then tried to flee the scene but was held by neighbors.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said two people were hospitalized after the incident.

Richter said one of those people were taken to a hospital pediatric wing.
