A vehicle overturned and caught fire at the end of a brief police pursuit on a Los Angeles freeway Friday, and the three men who were in it were taken into custody, authorities said.

The vehicle overturned in the northbound lanes of the Harbor (110) Freeway near the West Gage Avenue onramp around 3:30 a.m., said California Highway Patrol officer Francisco Villalobos.

The pursuit began on Century Boulevard, just east of the 110 when officers noticed a speeding vehicle, Villalobos said. The chase was over three minutes later when the sedan overturned and caught fire, he said.

The three men made it out of the vehicle. It was not immediately known if there were any injuries,

The driver faces charges of evading arrest, Villalobos said. Investigators are trying to establish if vehicle theft and DUI charges might also be lodged.
