One driver was arrested for drunken driving and three vehicles were impounded and placed on 30-day holds at an overnight sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint that ended early Saturday in Bellflower.
Thirty-six unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court, and six vehicles were stored for one day during the checkpoint.
It was at Lakewood Boulevard and Oak Street, it began at 6 p.m. Friday and it ended at 2 a.m. Saturday said Sgt. Daniel Dail of the Sheriff’s Traffic Services Detail.
Dail said 1,410 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
